Batik is a method of producing colored designs on textiles. A layer of wax is first added to fabric to create a resist.
Layers of dye and wax are added to the fabric to achieve a desired visual effect.
The wax is then removed from the fabric by applying the fabric to boiling water and a fixative is added to prevent dye transfer and improve wash-fastness.
Each piece is designed and handmade individually to ensure quality and character.
